POSTPONEMENT NOTICE!!!
Sorry to anyone who may have already made travel plans. But I am postponing the Street League National and AER events in SLC this spring. I haven't been able to find a venue that I'm really happy to run an event of this scale at. So instead of forcing the event to happen I'm going to downgrade it to a small regional for now while looking for venues that can hold larger events for the future.
Thank you to everyone who signed up and reached out. We will still be racing Street League 5/2 and/or 5/3 so look for that event listing closer to race day.
This is the place where you can register for the SLC Throwdown 2026 Unlimited Class event!
If you are flying multiple specs please register for them at the following links:
The Rules:
This event is an "Unlimited" Class race. So there are NO RULES about the specifics of the drones competitors are able to fly. If your drone is going to create an unmitigable safety concern then the race director reserves the right to ban that drone from this specific event.
All drones must be able to transmit at 25mw and 200mw power outputs on Race Band channels 1-8 and Low Band channels 1-8.
The Track:
A representative track will be uploaded to the Velocidrone simulator before April 1st for competitors to practice on. You can expect tight & technical track features built around pro level racers.
Overview of the event:
Pilots will get a free practice session in the morning. Then there will be "Best X laps" qualifying. Finals will consistent of "double elimination, double bump mains" with a Chase the Ace finally.
Weather:
This will be a "Fair weather" event. We will race in wet grass, fog, or light misting. If it begins to rain we will pause the event and adjust the Finals format as needed.
How much $$$:
Event registration will be $100 and collected at event check in. If any events have separate fees associated with them it will be clearly stated in their descriptions.
Racing will take place Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Friday is NOT a setup day so plan for travel on Thursday.
Morning:
- "All you can fly" free practice will start as soon as the track is set up in the morning
Afternoon:
- Pilots will have 10 flights to attempt to set the fastest X consecutive lap time
- Bump Mains will immediately follow qualifying
- Chase the Ace will immediately follow Bump Mains
