Welcome to the Olympia FPV Season 5 Forest Race!
We will be flying at Grandma Pill’s Racetrack aka Winkelworld Tree Farm, 3619 36th Ave NW, Olympia, WA. We will be using the gravel driveway for entering/exiting! Not the paved driveway like we have in the past. See the new parking guides below. There will be a flag at the enterance on race day.
Due to this being a forest race a beeper on your drone is highly recommended, along with tight battery leads and straps. If you plan to run a gopro a streamer attached to the back is also recommended.

Due to elevation change in the forest area we will not be posting a simulator version of the track design. We have a general idea for the track layout from previous years but we're going to switch it up a bit this time. We have a generator and are able to give power to most of our pilots. If possible, come prepared to field-charge or bring extra batteries. Parking is located right next to the pits. If you have don't have a way to field charge there will likely be an open spot on my charger that you can use! Pack a lunch and wear good shoes. Please keep your speed to 10mph on the driveway.

No polarization requirements
The day will start with pilot check-in an track setup at 11am. Tech inspection will involve a fail-safe check and video check. Please test your failsafe before coming to the race. To test your failsafe, take your props off and arm your quad. Then turn off your radio, your props should stop spinning. Feel free to reach out to us on the Olympia FPV Facebook group if you need help. We will be running 4 pilots max per heat. Once pilots are checked in and tech inspection is complete, we will run 1 hour of open practice. Then we will run 5 rounds of qualifying and using your top 2 consecutive lap times we will seed a double elimination bracket.
Schedule:
Pilot check-in, Track Setup and Tech Inspection: 11am - 12pm
Open Practice: 12pm - 1pm
Qualifying: 1pm - 4pm
Double Elimination Bracket: 4pm - 6pm
Track teardown: 6pm
All times are subject to change depending on how many pilots are flying and how quickly we can get through the rounds.
